David Leggio

Presdent/Head Instructor

David Leggio is the President and Head Instructor for Leggio Goaltending. David played 11 professional seasons playing at some of the highest levels around the world. David also had the incredible honor of representing Team USA at the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea. The Williamsville, New York native played three seasons in the Buffalo Sabres organization having spent two seasons with the Rochester Americans, where he was twice named the teams MVP. David has also played in the American Hockey League for Portland, Hershey and Bridgeport. Leggio also played his last four season in Germany, winning tee championships with Res Bull Munich. He began his pro career with Florida (ECHL), and TPS Turku (SM-Liiga) where he won his first pro championship. David has twice had the honor to represent the United States National Team in the IIHF Men's World Championships, and also competed for the stars and stripes at the Deutschland Cup, twice.

Collegiately Leggio played four seasons with ECAC Division 1 power Clark-son University, helping the club to two championships and earning the Ken Dryden award for the league’s top goalkeeper. David grew up in the Amherst Knights organization, and graduated High School from St. Joe’s where he played three years of Federation varsity and was twice first team All-WNY.

David has been coaching goaltenders for over a decade, helping guide numerous goaltenders to the pro, college, and junior ranks. Through his playing career he has had the privilege to work with some of the most respected goalie coaches in the world, which he applies to his teachings. Leggio’s work ethic and attention to detail gives each student the most modern techniques and drills available and will push them to be the best they can be.
